1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before they turn 18

What this means is that out of the 12 girls sitting in your daughter’s classes, statistically, 3 of them have been, or will be, sexually abused. Out of 10 boys on your son’s sports team, likely at least 2 of them have been, or will be, sexually abused. Out of 30 children and youth at Wednesday night church, 7-8 of them have been, or will be, sexually abused. This doesn’t count the cases of abuse that go unreported, especially with boys.

Sexual abuse does not skip Texas, it does not skip your local High School, it does not skip your church, and it may not skip your very own household.
